Partnering with Pat

I started working closely with Pat when I became treasurer at NYHS, in 2017. We discussed a wide variety of financial issues and met frequently to handle transactions. Pat always displayed sincere warmth and good humor, and he was easy to work with. It was a pleasure to serve the school with Pat by my side.

Kevin Coskey

More than a Staff Member

Pat and I worked together for decades. He was a senior member of a remarkable administrative team that we assembled at Northwest Yeshiva High School. Pat joined us as our bookkeeper. His responsibilities expanded over the years. Effectively, he was our CFO. He was the building manager, and he managed all our technology — software, hardware, and instalations.

Pat was a remarkable individual. His dedication to our students and to his colleagues was without limit. His good cheer and sense of humor enriched us. His patience was monumental. His can-do attitude was reassuring. His friendship was deeply cherished. I speak for all his colleagues when I say that our lives are deminsihed by his passing.

Patrick’s Birthday

This video is one of the things I am most proud of in my life that I was able to capture. Patrick was so loved. This is a video of students at NYHS singing to Pat on his birthday. He rarely worked directly with the kids, but every kid knew how great he was and looked forward to opportunities where they got to interact with him. May Patrick’s memory always be for a blessing.

Remembering a Friend

I had the privilege of being able to spend a few months working directly for Patrick. For a few months here and a few months there I worked for Patrick as his Business associate during his time at NYHS. During that time I not only had a chance to work for a wonderful Boss but even more so I was able to make a wonderful friend. Patrick was a genuinely warm and delightful person. Working closely with him made it easy for us to quickly bond over shared interests such as soccer and cooking. He will be sorely miss by myself and many others. May his memory be a blessing.

Working at the Kari Haas Real Estate Team

The first photo is from when we had an employee bonding event and went to see Bohemian Rhapsody. Pat was the perfect companion because he talked about all the history of the music so we knew which songs were actually published first and we all sang along.

The second photo is from Kari’s birthday dinner and includes both our our team members and some of Kari’s family.

A few more pics from working at NYHS

The first photo is of me, Patrick, my spouse Omri and Kara McPhillips. Kara was a language arts teacher at NYHS. Omri actually also worked at NYHS as Patrick’s assistant for a little while (he’ll say more about that wonderful time). This photo was from when we all went to Kara’s band Tape Stacks performing in Ballard and had a great time!

The second photo is a group picture of the admin team my last year working at NYHS. Pat had worked at NYHS for a long time, I think 15+ years. I only worked at NYHS for three years. My first year was Rabbi Fox’s last year, the next year we had an interim head of school, and this picture was taken my third and final year welcoming Jason Feld as the new head of school. Big transitions!
